Where’s the beef?
Or should we say, “Where’s the wedding?” According to Revere, MA history, a wedding couple left the altar before the wedding could take place in 1951. While the marriage plans of the said couple remain a mystery, one thing is for sure: there was no shortage of leftover food, including one very large roast beef.
The function hall didn’t want the roast to go to waste, so they gave it to their son and a friend who had just opened a hot dog stand on Revere beach. They carved the roast beef into thin slices and served up what would become the roast beef craze of New England. Many national restaurants (and one with “the meats”) attempted to take on this New England RB sandwich, but no one does it quite like us!
Style & Fixings
Today, many New Englanders will say that the best way to have a roast beef sandwich is on an onion roll with cheese and mayo. However, there are so many ways to enjoy a good roast beef sandwich. Most notably, however, the roast beef has to be good!
Our roast beef comes three ways: “Super”, “Junior” or “Regular” on your choice of bun. We suggest the “Super” option for an incredibly delicious bite. As for fixings, there’s no shortage of toppings to add. While the original sandwich itself is always excellent, you can add cheese, BBQ sauce, mayo, and more to make your sandwich a truly mouth-watering bite!
